ABSTRACT
IIS KARTIS,S.Pd. To increase the student’s ability in getting detail information from the written text through the reading lesson by cooperative learning at 3B SLTP Negeri 8 Purwakarta.2006.
During the time, English lesson met great problem : 1. range of student’s score are worse, 2.the teaching and learning process are monotone and didn’t give the change to the teacher and students to improve their creativities and positive interaction. Because of that, there should be one of the approaches, method, and technique in teaching and learning process to increase the student’s goal or score. The cooperative learning model with the contextual teaching and learning hopefully can be solve the problem.
This research is an action research that have done to increase the student’s ability in getting detail information from the written text in reading teaching and learning process, it is also increase the quality in teaching and learning process. it can be from the teachers side and students in another by the application cooperative teaching and learning model. The object of the research is the English teaching and learning process at 3B SLTP N 8 Purwakarta – the next year become SMP N 4 Purwakarta.
The action research has been done in two cycle; in each cycle there were: 1. planning, 2. action and observation,3. reflection. The result showed that the reading in teaching and learning process use the cooperative learning by the contextual approach: 1. Able to improve the student’s ability to find the detail information from the written text and it was also able to improve enthusiasm and student’s cheerful during teaching and learning process. 2. Able to improve the teacher ability in finding the approach, method and varieties of technique. Even it could be the unique relationship between teacher and student because the teaching and learning process had done in naturally, interestingly and cheerfully.
